Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 7, 2026
Cinderfi is built around a simple principle: your financial data is yours. It never leaves your browser.
What We Don't Collect
Cinderfi has no user accounts, no login, no cookies, and no server-side database. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the financial information you enter into the app.
Where Your Data Lives
All data you enter — income, account balances, assumptions, budget items — is stored locally in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device. If you clear your browser data, it's gone.
The shareable link feature encodes your plan inputs into the URL hash fragment. Hash fragments are not sent to the server, but they will be visible to anyone you share the link with.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how people use the site. Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics tool that:
- Does not use cookies
- Does not collect personal data or track you across sites
- Does not fingerprint your browser
- Collects only aggregate metrics: page views, referrer source, country, device type
Plausible is open source and compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. No consent banner is required.
Third-Party Services
- Vercel — hosts the app. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent) are collected by Vercel's infrastructure and automatically deleted per their privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used in the app. Google may log requests per their privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics — as described above.
Data Deletion
Since all your data is stored locally in your browser, you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for cinderfi.com, or by using your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Since we don't have your email, we can't notify you directly — but the policy will always be available at this URL.
