Roadmap
What we’re building next — and where Cinderfi is headed. This list is driven by user feedback, so if something is missing, let us know.
Coming Soon
Life Events Timeline
Plan for salary changes, career breaks, and spending shifts at specific ages. Model a raise at 45, a pay cut when going part-time at 55, a $20K/year childcare expense from 35–45, or a travel budget bump in early retirement that tapers off. Multiple events can overlap, and the projection engine adjusts income and spending year by year instead of assuming everything stays flat.
Phased Retirement
Model a gradual transition from full-time to part-time to fully retired, instead of a single retirement cliff edge.
Savings Goals & Emergency Fund
Set aside funds for a home purchase, emergency reserve, or major expense. An emergency fund acts as a cash buffer that prevents you from selling investments during downturns — improving your Monte Carlo success rate the same way a pledged line of credit does, without the interest.
Contribution Optimization Dashboard
A visual, interactive display of exactly where your next dollar should go — priority order, dollar amounts, tax savings per account, and progress bars. Replaces the current text-based insights with something you can act on at a glance.
Survivor Scenario
One-click “what happens if I die at age X?” analysis showing the surviving spouse’s financial picture — spousal rollover of registered accounts, survivor CPP/SS benefits, reduced household income vs. reduced spending. One of the most important questions couples have.
Buy vs Rent Analyzer
A guided flow that builds two scenarios automatically and shows the break-even year, total cost difference, and impact on your retirement date.
AI Retirement Advisor
Conversational Q&A about your specific financial situation, powered by Claude. Ask “Should I delay CPP?” and get an answer based on your actual numbers.
Recurring Transaction Detection
Auto-detect subscriptions, rent, and other recurring expenses from imported transactions for more accurate spending annualization.
Smarter Phase Detection
Better adaptation of the Planning view based on whether you’re accumulating or decumulating. The right metrics and charts surfaced at the right time.
On the Horizon
Asset Allocation Glide Path
Model a stocks-to-bonds shift over time (e.g., 80/20 at 55 → 50/50 at 75). Instead of flat return percentages, returns change each year based on your target allocation — making Monte Carlo simulations more realistic.
Defined Benefit Pension Analysis
A guided comparison for commuted value vs. lifetime pension — showing the lump-sum investment path vs. guaranteed income path side by side. High value for teachers, government workers, and military.
Long-Term Care Event Modeling
Model a one-time or multi-year healthcare cost spike in your 80s — facility care, home care, or other late-life expenses. The risk that keeps retirees up at night, currently invisible in most projections.
Wealthica Integration
Auto-import investment balances from 150+ Canadian institutions.
RESP & 529 Education Planning
Model education savings alongside retirement and see the trade-off.
Multi-Currency & Cross-Border
Handle USD/CAD transactions and model snowbird scenarios.
Custom Spending Categories
Create your own budget categories beyond the default 16.
Category-Aware Inflation
Different inflation rates per category — healthcare at 5%, housing at 3.5%, food at 3%. Retirees spend disproportionately on healthcare late in life.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (US)
QCDs from IRAs after age 70½ satisfy RMDs without increasing taxable income — a common strategy for charitably inclined retirees that interacts with withdrawal order and IRMAA avoidance.
Mobile App
Push notifications for score changes, contribution deadline reminders, and offline access. A proper installable experience with the daily engagement loop built in.
UK & Australia
ISA/SIPP/State Pension (UK) and Superannuation (Australia). The strategy system already supports pluggable country modules.
